There is a large potential to integrate substantial shares of renewable energy sources in district heating and/or cooling systems, reducing the dependency of DHC on fossil fuels and ultimately leading to a more efficient and sustainable energy system. More info about the conference here.
We will talk about DHC networks, renewables, thermal storage, waste heat recovery at low temperatures, building, energy management system, introduce tools to support planning process & consumer participation, as well as sustainable urban regeneration model development, smart city technologies in energy, transport and ICT. On behalf of MAtchUP, our partners from DWG will present the district heating works which have been carrying on in Dresden.
A number of EU funded projects are currently working on this topic: WEDISTRICT, REWARDHeat, RELaTED, TEMPO, MAtchUP, DRIMPAC, REPLICATE, REMOURBAN.
