Concrete actions to improve the share of renewable energy and increase sustainable mobility

The European project MAtchUP is tackling pollution, energy consumption and overcrowding which lead to our cities being unsafe and unhealthy places to live

Coordinator Ernesto Faubel, Valencia city council’s representative, explains: “The consortium is made up of twenty-eight partners from eight different countries. We have three lighthouse cities, which are Valencia in Spain, Dresden in Germany and Antalya in Turkey and four follower cities: Ostend in Belgium, Kerava in Finland, Skopje in North Macedonia and Herzliya in Israel. The project aims for more sustainable cities by focusing on renewable and efficient energy, mobility and ICT. Moreover, a key aspect is the social component, as the citizen engagement is at the heart of the activities”.
