Dear Reader,
I hope you and your beloved ones stay healthy and safe during these challenging times!
MAtchUP has also been partially impacted by the COVID19 pandemic as some activities have slowed down. Despite this, we still managed to make significant progress over the past months on our mission to repaint smart cities. We have so many examples to mention!
- In Valencia, new sensors were installed on hybrid and e-buses to monitor real-time conditions, and the city can now count on two multimodal hubs, a real boost for green mobility. Valencia was also among the 6 finalists of the European Capital of Innovation Awards, with its #MissionsValencia
- Dresden launched its new bike-rental system with 1,000 yellow MOBI bikes available to all citizens and tourists. The Saxon city also hosted the first MAtchUP virtual study tour; you can download the presentations from our website.
- Antalya launched a Sustainable urban mobility contest, planned a roadmap to implement the SECAP, finalised the first batch of apartments and started working on its energy storage system, the first of its kind in Turkey.
But there’s more! We have just launched our Network of cities, which will be soon available on our website. If your city or network wants to join us, write to info@matchup-project.eu, we’re eager to collaborate with you!
At this point I am sure you’d like to dive into the latest news from MAtchUP. So I’ll leave you to it and wish you to enjoy your Christmas holidays. See you in 2021, I’m sure it will be a colourful year!
