Renewables will be deployed at district and city level in the MAtchUP project through the implementation of an innovative wave energy converter (WEC) system able to maximize the electric energy captured from the waves to supply smart public lighting on the sea front, the direct coupling of current excess from solar and wind peaks into the district heating (power-to-heat) and solar photovoltaic systems for irrigation.
